DIABETIC NEUROPATHY

Capsicum
Diabetic neuropathy is one of the unpleasant side-effects of diabetes and is characterized by a burning, tingling sensation in the feet and legs. People with diabetes are also prone to ulcers forming on the lower limbs due to poor circulation and neuropathy. Derma-Kure contains capsicum that helps alleviate the symptoms of neuropathy. Cayenne contains resinous and pungent substance known as capsaicin. The chemical relieves pain and itching by acting on the sensory nerves. Capsaicin temporarily stimulates the release of various neurotransmitters, pain signals can no longer be sent. The effect is temporary. Capsaicin has been shown to have several other actions, including reducing platelet stickiness and acting as antioxidants  Numerous double-blind studies have proven topically applied capsaicin creams are helpful for a range of conditions including nerve pain in diabetics ( diabetic neuropathy), post surgical pain, psoriasis, muscle pain due to fibromyalgia, nerve pain after shingles, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis pain.

Its hard to believe that these started out as minor cuts and abrasions!
